GCFLearnFree.Org-Friday Find-January 24

January 24, 2014

For this week's Friday Find, I wanted to discuss GCFLearnFree.Org. I found this website by searching free online classes.  Recently I've been seeing more people take online classes especially those who are working or have very hectic schedule. I like expanding my knowledge and really thought this was a good website.

According to the About Us page," GCFLearnFree.org creates and provides quality, innovative online learning opportunities to anyone who wants to improve the technology, literacy and math skills needed to be successful in both work and life. By delivering over 750 different lessons to millions of people in over 200 countries and territories ABSOLUTELY FREE, GCFLearnFree.org is a worldwide leader in online education.  View one tutorial. Complete a whole class. We believe there's freedom in the ability to learn what you want, when you want, regardless of income or circumstances.
A program of Goodwill Industries of Eastern NC, Inc.® (GIENC®), all GCFLearnFree.org® educational content is designed and produced in the GCF Global Learning® building in Downtown Raleigh, NC."

There are a lot of topics to choose from on their topics page. Such of the topics include Computer Basics, Career Interviewing Skills, Microsoft Access 2007, among much more. The topics seem to be very detailed. I've been using this site to learn more about career skills as well as job development. I like how you can take the classes on your own time, and that they are available any time.

The website also has mobile apps of some of the most popular tutorials. These apps include Powerpoint 2010, Excel 2010, and Vocabulary Videos.

Happy learning!
