Love, Life and Appreciation

Yesterday February 18th was May's first-grade concert! Yes that's right she's in the first grade and I can remember back when she was just learning to walk! The kids are getting so big. I think they grow an inch every night. Well, maybe but many of our friends and family think May will be taller than me. That's from her father's side of the family.

May had a concert for Kindergarten as well. That was last year around the holidays. The first-grade concert brought May to a familiar stage and she and her other classmates did well in singing songs like Noble Duke of York, There Was a Man, De Colores and Take Me Out the Ballgame. I couldn't help but sing some of the songs when they closed with Take Me Out the Ballgame, especially at "one...two...three strikes you're out, at the old ballgame!"

Rex and Nia were there in support too and we all really had a great time. Afterward, we went to a local IHOP for a celebratory dinner. May and Nia both have pretty nice singing voices, they get it from their momma. I'll definitely be singing more with the kids, for now, May has the spotlight!

Last month I wrote that I received an email from POPSUGAR, saying that I won one of the 500 POPSUGAR Must Have boxes inspired by Disney's Noelle. That box is now here!!!

The box arrived fairly quickly after I virtually signed the paperwork, confirming my prize. Though the outside of the boxed looked like it had been through some rough times, when I opened the package the contents looked to be in great content. Here's what the box looked like as soon as I opened it:


I immediately smelled the candle as soon as I opened the box. It was a spicy, woody scent and it smells delicious. Then I saw the earring by Shashi and was in awe. They looked so nice and were a good size and perfect for the winter, colder months, as they look like little cute snowflakes.

I was a little surprised that the products weren't listed on the cardstock. Here's the back of the card:


Currently, we don't have a Disney+ subscription and I know that the movie was featured on that platform. We might try a free trial of the service in the near future but for now, we'll be keeping Netflix. Here's the rest of the box:

Exactly last weekend I hopped on a plane, leaving my husband and kids in Maryland and flew all the way across the country, some 2000+ miles, to California. Why California? Did I just say I need a break and decide to leave the family for a little bit and fly more than 5 hours away? Kind of. The reason I flew to Cali was partly that I needed to get away from the daily day to day, also that I'm 33 and I figured why not? See I am still apart of many influencer programs and beta testing groups and the community PEOPLE Insiders, for PEOPLE magazine, sent an email back in December about being invited to an Oscar's Viewing Party, the "biggest of the year", or so they said.

I had to be at The Broad museum at 3 pm PST for a timed entry there. So I left the Science center and headed in a Lyft to the Grammy Museum. By this time my phone was about to die and I had to charge it a bit while I was there.
