Wow it's been almost a year since I last posted on the blog. I decided to take some time off and just got caught up in life. There so many changes since the last update I posted. We no longer live in Moorestown. We now actually have been living in Baltimore, MD since February. Back in December I applied for a job with a temp agency in Maryland and luckily I was able to get an interview a position with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in Laurel, MD. Rex as well was able to find work in DC, so all of us moved in with my sister-in-law in Maryland. We left the jobs we had in NJ and PA because we felt like even with the money coming in we couldn't get more on our feet. I am so thankful that we were able to stay with my family during the time. I remember when we first had to move back I was think it would only be a few weeks, it turned out to be about a year. May was also learning a lot at the daycare, though it was pricey having to pay over $200 each week.

When we first got back to MD, the position I had was more stable but Rex's was not as stable. It was ok because my in-laws were more able to watch May. I was a Buyer III working with contracts and memos and Rex was supposed to do more of the working in the hotel like he had previously done but the manager seemed to want to keep him more outside and in the cold. Now before we moved back to MD we also found out some big news that November. I am pregnant again! It was a shock. I had been at the document clerk job for four months when we found out and at first we both couldn't believe it. We had also tried to get insurance and change the car title to NJ while we lived in NJ but it was such a long process. I didn't even know how many weeks pregnant I was when we found out and we knew we had to really get the insurance. I was so nervous interviewing with the temp agency and going to the job, though I wasn't showing at all back in December. I'll say I was so tired during the first trimester and moody. Having a two year old, working and pregnant is a lot. I was also nauseous. When I told my parents they weren't immediately happy because they knew the situation we were in but they accepted and have been very supported. They said they are always there if we need them and that is so true. We waited until Christmas to tell my in-laws. We still didn't have insurance and I didn't know how far along I was. Luckily we were able to get insurance and I went to my first prenatal visit at 16 weeks pregnant.

Actually about 4 days before the appointment I had to go to the hospital due to food poisoning and a UTI.  Rex had picked me up with May in the backseat after work and we went to Denny's in Laurel to eat. I had a burger and felt fine eating the burger. This was also around the time that we were getting everything together to move into our townhouse in Baltimore. Later that day I started to feel very sick and when I threw up once I thought, "Oh well I threw up when I was pregnant with May three times, on three separate occasions, so this much just be the first time." Well later in the night I could not stop vomiting. I was so weak and we had the insurance by then so we when to the hospital and I was still vomiting. We were worried because we hadn't had any prenatal treatment other than me taking prenatal vitamins. Luckily the baby was fine and we got to see the baby on the ultrasound just moving and kicking and doing flips. I had to be treated for dehydration, vomiting and the UTI which was surprising to me because I never had a UTI before.

Flash forward to March, we had into the townhouse in Baltimore, my assignment ended at WSSC and Rex had found work at the Baltimore Port, which he is still at. Now the townhouse is a two bedroom townhouse and for the moment Rex's , Farms is staying with us, Farms would also watch May when she a baby. The townhouse is located near the Baltimore Harbor, actually on the other side downtown Baltimore, and less than 5 minutes away from were my brother-in-law and his family lives. After my assignment ended I tried looking for outside work, I told my job and they seemed happy but work ran out for the assignment. I interviewed for another assignment, at that time 4 months pregnant, but lost that to a more experience candidate. I can see it's even harder finding work while pregnant. So I looked more for online jobs, much like I did during the first few months when we moved back to NJ and I think I might have actually found something legit and not a scam, working part time, rating ads. I have about 3 more months to go and I know that I'll be able to find something after the baby is born. Oh let me stop saying the baby. We are having another girl and we also have named her. Her name will be Nia Jane Sumo. Jane is the middle name of my grandmother and I've also liked the name of Nia.

For the time now, I watch May while Rex is at work, before my brother-in-law's girlfriend would watch May while both Rex and I were at work. We are still working to get more on our feet and we know we'll have our hands full even more when Nia comes. Thankful we are working together through all these twists and turns and we will continue to be working through all the humps that further await. At this current moment I am 29 weeks pregnant and May is becoming more and more aware of her sister to be as well as so is learning so many new words and songs. She's even starting to say "Gracias."

I'll be posting on the blog more. I'll have product reviews like before and I'll be really working towards that 30 before 30 list. Sometimes in life you must rest and when the time is right you'll see things fall into place.

Here's a couple a pictures from the past few months, enjoy :-)

My birthday is today! I'm officially 27 years old. Yesterday we said goodbye to my grandfather. It was so hard saying goodbye...

I'm happy that Rex was here to comfort me and celebrate my birthday with May and other members of my family. I'm also happy for seeing another day and celebrating another birthday. In the morning Rex and I went to Ihop. My father watched May for us. It was nice having breakfast with him, it was like mini date. I got the Brioche French Toast with strawberry and blueberries and Rex got the steak omelet. Here's a few pictures we took:

Later, Rex, May, my father and I stopped by my uncle Dennis'. My uncle Clarence and my cousin Tina, had come up from Georgia for the funeral and had stayed there. We hadn't seen each other in a while, and had recently seen each other at the funeral. They wanted to see May, since we didn't bring her to the funeral. It was also nice for Rex to see more of my family members.

Here's my cousin, Jamie with May

My cousin, Jamie is a home health aide and gave Rex a few workbooks she had when she was learning the field. Not long after visit my family, Rex had to be at the Greyhound station to go back to Maryland. We weren't sure if he would get a call back for a second interview Friday and felt it would be better he was in Maryland in case he got the call. Dropping him off at the station was hard and it's getting harder each time. May seems to be OK, she sees pictures of him and hears his voice. The video calling is helpful as well. We decided he'll give it two more weeks and if he can't find anything in Maryland, he'll be coming up this way. We're really hoping he hears something back from the interview. I'm hoping I hear something back from the jobs I applied for in Maryland too. Some good news, the employer I was working with before I left still wants to work with me, and I'll be remotely analyzing the data I was imputing  for the middle school.  It's part-time work but at least it's something.

It's official! May is one year old today. Well she turned one at exactly 6:19 this morning. I remember her birth like it was yesterday. I remember the night before feeling really strong contractions and walking into the hospital saying I though I was in labor. Then I was admitted and a couple hours after I was admitted the doctors decided it would be best to for me to have a C-section. Then Rex and I heard the most beautiful cry of our daughter who is now one!!! Gosh times does sure fly and we know that she'll be even more grown up the following years.

We started the day by giving her a gift that her Aunt Kate had mailed earlier this week. Kate has been my best friend since I was younger and we call each other sisters. She lives in New Jersey and proudly calls May her niece. From Kate, May got a nice number, color and shape book, along with a metal piggy bank with wheels. May loved the gifts and the bows Kate had put on the gifts. Later in the day we gave May a bath and dressed her in an outfit we had bought from Target the previous day. She is growing out of her clothes so fast. My parents and grandparents came down from NJ to wish May a happy birthday. They brought gifts and food. They also came to take her for the weekend. At first she cried when she first saw them but she became more comfortable later on. It's her first time being away from us for more than a day. I know she'll be alright though. My parents and grandparents were so happy to see her too and I know they are even happier to spend more time with her. For my grandparents, May is their only great-grandchild and for my parents May is their only grandchild. Rex and I are taking it easy and relaxing. We have a few things to do tomorrow. We got approved for an apartment we are looking to move into within the next two weeks. It's tough, but we have wonderful support from family and friends and we couldn't be more thankful. We hope to do something more for May's birthday next year. She was really happy with what she got this year :-)

Here's some pictures from her birthday:

Today is Rex's birthday!!! It's a bit rainy outside but we celebrated the morning with a nice home-cooked breakfast, then we went out to Denny's for lunch. May was sleeping when we got to the Denny's but as we finished eating she woke up and was pointing at the lights. Later today we'll probably just relax and watch a movie on the Netflix.

It's nice to spend this time together, especially what's been going on these past few weeks. He is starting to feel better, but still has some of the affects the anxiety. We know it'll take some time gaining more control of the symptoms, and we'll be together side by side during the process of how to gain more control. We're also in the process of looking for more affordable housing. We've been living were we are now for a little over a year but it's too much at this point considering our financial situation. We are so thankful for friends and family who are helping us through this.

Exactly one week from now will be May's 1st birthday. Wow she's almost a year old.  We're going to try to do something special for her birthday. My parents will also be coming down from NJ, and will be taking her for the weekend. It might take her a little bit to get used to being up there without us for a day but I know that she'll get comfortable and she's been her grandparent's house before.

Many more birthdays are coming up and of course it's the holiday season. This is my favorite time of year and even though we won't be gifting much this year, the love and support of family and friends is more than what we could even ask for.

January 9th is my birthday. Capricorns unite! Hehe.

I turned 25 this year. I'm very blessed and I thank HIM for 25 years of life and look forward to many more, especially with Rex and the new adventures we'll experience.

This year January 9th was also the first snowfall of 2012 for the DC metro area. The storm was not very well forecasted, due to a disagreement in the computer models and many saying that there wasn't enough cold air or moisture present for snow. When the snow did start to fall, the non-accumulating thoughts turned into an accumulation of up to 2" in some areas.  In Adelphi/Tacoma Park, we received about 0.5".  It was pretty coming down and the snow nicely covered the grass. It covered the cars slightly as well. The streets were slick in some areas, however.

Rex took me out for my birthday that night and we went to Longhorn Steak house.  We went out with a few friends as well. It was a wonderful birthday and a nice treat with the little bit of snow. It was nothing compared to the Blizzard of '96. Remember that? It's been a pretty snow-less winter so far in many parts of the United States.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday:

Thank you so much for braving the weather baby for a wonderful birthday celebration. You mean so much to me and thank you to everyone else who made it out. It means a lot. Gotta love having a winter b-day ;-)
