Edamam's Nutrition Wizard Plus Review-Giveaway Service

April 27, 2015

Recently I've been on the lookout for more home cooked meals and eating out less. I hope to accomplish this more as put on my 30 before 30 list. I came across a site called Giveaway Service and was accepted for a nutrition analysis website by Edamam, which shows the real time analysis of the nutrition on any ingredient list or recipe. I'll say that I am very impressed by the nutrition analysis website. Not only does it have a powerful search to look across various other websites for recipes, it gives very clear results of the nutritional value of search recipes and recipes in which you input yourself. The option to search for the recipes can be selective and there is an option to search by calories, number of ingredients, diet (paleo, balanced, low-sodium, etc) as well as allergies (dairy, shellfish, peanuts, etc.) There is a snapshot to see how many calories and ingredients that are in the recipe before even clicking on the recipe.

More on the nutrition wizard from the Giveaway Service description, "The Nutrition Wizard uses natural language processing to analyze the information so no need for drop down menus and clunky selections. You just copy/paste or type the recipe as you normally would and hit 'Analyze' -- that's all.

All nutritional information is personalized and gives recommended daily intakes of nutrients based on your personal needs, taking into account age, gender, height, weight and activity level.

You can save the recipes and come tweak them later or you can export the data and use it to track calories or nutrient intake."

The ability to tweak the recipes helps to make this wizard very unique and more customizable. The website also features a "Get Inspired" Tab which shows recipes you might be interested in for the week you are viewing the website.

The Nutrition Wizard is has two options available. The basic version does not included the ability to save and export data and is $2.95 a month. The plus includes the previously stated features and is $5.95. The Nutrition Wizard is also available for IOS and Android. I like that these options are available too because they make it easier for on-the-go. Overall, I feel this a very good site to find nutritional meals and see the nutritional value of meals you input. I will certainly be using this website and app to help in my search of cooking more home cooked meals and eating more healthy.
